Delete your account and data

You can request deletion of your Familymaxxing account and the data associated with it at any time. This page explains how to request deletion, what data we remove, what we keep, and how long it takes.

How to request account deletion

You can request deletion either from inside the app or by email. We will act on your request within 30 days and send confirmation once it is complete.

Option 1 — In the Familymaxxing app

  1. Open Familymaxxing and sign in to the account you want to delete.
  2. Tap Profile (bottom right) → Settings.
  3. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
  4. Confirm the warning screen to submit your request.

Option 2 — By email

  1. Send an email to support@familymaxxing.app from the email address on your Familymaxxing account.
  2. Use the subject line “Account deletion request”.
  3. Include your account handle (for example @yourhandle) in the body so we can locate the account.
  4. We will reply to verify the request, then permanently delete the account within 30 days.

What data is deleted

When your request is processed, we permanently delete the following from our production systems:

  • Your profile (name, handle, avatar, email, authentication identifiers).
  • Your goals, check-ins, posts, stories, messages, reactions, and comments.
  • Your group memberships (you are removed from every group you belong to).
  • Your notification preferences and registered device push tokens.
  • Avatar and media files you uploaded to Familymaxxing storage.

What data is retained, and for how long

  • Encrypted backups— residual copies inside Supabase’s automated database backups are retained for up to 30 days after deletion, then overwritten on the standard backup rotation.
  • Shared group content — messages, settlements, and check-ins that you sent into a group remain visible to other members of that group, but are attributed to a deleted user (your name, handle, and avatar are removed). This is necessary so the shared history of the group stays intact for the other members.
  • Financial and legal records — settlement records tied to money movements between group members are retained for up to 7 years where required by applicable tax and financial-record law, with personal identifiers redacted.
  • Security and abuse logs — authentication and anti-abuse logs are retained for up to 90 days in anonymised form to protect other users.

Deleting some data without closing your account

If you want to remove specific content but keep using Familymaxxing, you can:

  • Delete individual check-ins, posts, messages, comments, or stories in the app.
  • Leave a group from Group → Members → Withdraw to stop contributing new content there.
  • Email support@familymaxxing.app describing the specific data you would like removed.
